The First Post

The pressure builds in the here and now
A bead of sweat trickles from my brow.
“You have to do it, you promised you would”
A promise I made without knowing I could.
I hover and dither. I shiver and shake
What if I’m making an enormous mistake?
It sits before me, all pristine and perfect
Not another thing I can think to correct.
My mind is buzzing with fear and doubt
My tongue, dry as a Saharan drought.
“Just click it now, push that button.”
In minutes, this angst could all be forgotten.
It’s taken so long to find my way
I’m sure it can wait, just one more day.
